Our Own Projects
Abstruckt
In August 2011, Shawn Hazen took a cross-country road trip. Since he’s a graphic designer, it’s no surprise that when driving he found himself checking out the graphics and branding on the countless semis sharing the road with him.
ChicagoType
This site has been documening the rich, ecclectic history of commercial and vernacular typography in Chicago since 2006.
Robotcha
A robot t-shirt design company, run by Shawn and his young son Finn, who comes up the ideas for the robots.
Typophonic
A collection of typographically driven 12-inch record covers from the 1950s through the 1980s.
Book Worship
Book cover design from the 60s and 70s. Shawn has a ridiculous collection of obscure books with graphic covers.
Gridness
[Currently archived] A page composed with a smart grid is a beautiful thing to behold—if you’re a true design nerd.
